Default ISO: Mesmer PvP Build...

In Searh Of:

A mesmer PvP build. Would like the main focus to be damage w/some survivability. Just looking for a nice build to get me introduced into the mesmer world. I know damage comes in all shapes and sizes w/the mesmer, but i am just looking for the best and i guess most non-class specific (IE melee vs caster) build for the mesmer.

Just post up your personal favorite damage builds.

Thanks

The most common mesmer build I have seen for PvP would be the E-surger

Thats a pretty good build...but one slight problem. I dont have proph =(.

Also I would like some defense against melee...so if u could just save a spot on the build for blind.

Thanks again guys.

esurge mesmers are great for casters, but i prefer anti-melle builds.

i use this--ineptitude, clumsiness, signet of clumsiness, conjure phant, images of remorse, distortion, energy trap, ether feast.

16 illusion, 11 fast casting, 10 inspiration.

i absolutley love this build because you completly catch melle atackers offguard. they come in rushing you thinking you will be a nice soft target to kill, then they get spiked with about 300 damage+blind+ -8 degen. (if they keep attacking, which they almost always do)...this exact build is great in pve too because casters in pve always attack with their wands/staves so its just as effective. in pvp, just put degen on casters and if you catch them attacking with their wand/staff put the other skills on them.

What type of PvP are you doing? The best build will likely depend on the type of PvP that you participate in along with the rest of your team's build.

Also, if you want to blind, then consider Blinding Surge as an Me/E:

The problem is on this char its probably going to be mainly RA, so I wont be able to build it around any specific group of people =(

Normally for RA, I would suggest RA, but you say you don't have prophecies, so your options are going to be pretty limited. I hate to say it, but you're going to be missing out on some of the best mesmer elites without access to prophecies.

Assuming all skills are available, however, degen/clusiness/ineptitude is the strongest way to go in RA.

If you're alert about your positioning in relavance to other people and you're careful about energy management, a crippling anguish mesmer can work wonders in RA but especially TA with organized groups

14 inspiration
12 Illusion
9-11 Fast Casting

Crippling Anguish
Conjure Phantasm
Arcane Conundrum
Spirit of Failure
Mantra Of Persistance
Power Drain
Ether Feast/ Leech Sig/ Drain Enchantment etc
Res Sig

Throw the appropiate hex on the right targets and cover everything with conjure phantasm. Put Conjure Phantasm on someone even if there's no other hex on the person because it adds degen pressure. If you can't see what goes where you probably shouldn't be a mesmer. Afterwards, run around outside of battle interrupt key spells and keep up the hexes. Just remember that you're not try to kill things as much as weaken them and leave them for other people.

No prof? nooo that leaves out the entire branch of Illusionary Weaponry on the Mesmer tree...

I was going to tell you a IW build, but with no IW the whole thing is rendered useless.

Sorry, no other builds.

actually thats not true. since nightfall came out an amazing iw build has been made with me/a. it goes something like this--illusionary weaponry, deadly paradox, feigned neutrality, shadow refuge, deaths charge, dark escape, caltrops, optional---i would use conjure phantasm

it works amazing and youll be nearly invincible but you have to cover illusionary weaponry propery so it doesnt get removed.

OP said he doesn't have prophecies, so no IW builds!
Unless you found a place to cap IW in factions or NF?

i myself for pvp use this domination build

Skills:

Spiritual Pain
Backfire/Empathy(depending on your preference)
Energy Surge
Energy Burn
Leech Sig
Arcane Echo
Unnatural Sig/Ether Feast
Res Sig

this works great on either casters or melee, especially rangers if you use empathy. Sins are a piece of cake, and it can take out a monk in no time. I would suggest echoing SP since it offers teh highest damage of the damage skills besides backfire which is conditional damage. You probably want to use Ether Feast instead of Unnatural Sig since you can lose health very fast.

errr...he doesn't have prophecies, he can't unlock or capture IW! so the whole build is useless, like I said so
